Flamingo EXPO 2025 Cotton Basque Berets
The World Expo 2025 is being held in Osaka, Japan, homebase
of Flamingo Berets.The Expo’s theme is "Designing Future Society for Our
Lives".
Flamingo’s "Expo Beret" is based on the red and
blue colours of the Expo 2025. It's cotton is highly absorbent and
breathable, quickly absorbing and releasing sweat, making it comfortable to
wear even in the heat of summer.It also has excellent heat retention, making it
useful all year round, even in spring, autumn, and in air-conditioned rooms.
It is knitted using the jersey knit method that is commonly
used in sportswear and is characterized by moderate elasticity in the
horizontal direction and its resistance to deformation.
To maintain the beret's roundness, polyester is blended in
to compensate for the tendency of cotton to shrink. It is thin,
lightweight, and smooth to the touch.
Flamingo Hemp (Linen) Basque Berets
The Flamingo summer berets in French hemp (linen) are the ideal berets for warm and humid weather; light, airy, easy to wear and offering good protection from the sun.
Approximately 27.5cm diameter, fitted with the Flamingo adjustable sizing system and a 50/50 cotton/linen lining. Hemp content 80%; 20% polyester (for strength). Available in black and green.
Flamingo Igaguri Berets
A new (2025) addition to the wide range of innovative materials used by Flamingo for berets. This material is made from “cotton” thread made from konnyaku and processed to resemble hemp, giving it a smooth and refreshing texture like hemp. Th Igaguri beret, with its hand-knitted pattern and emphasis on the uneven texture, can be worn stylishly from spring to autumn and is especially suitable for outdoor activity.
Flamingo Amakusa Cypress Beret
The yarn of this beret is made from the thinned cypress wood in the Amakusa area of the Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan.
Woven according to the unique properties of the yarn, these berets are lightweight and provide a cool sensation when worn. The biodegradable natural fabric makes them an eco-friendly choice that reduces environmental impact.
Flamingo Washi (Japanese Paper) Berets
Washi (和紙) is traditional Japanese paper made of local fiber, processed by hand and made in the traditional manner. Kōzogami Washi is made from the bark of the mulberry and has a toughness closer to cloth than to ordinary paper and does not weaken when treated to be water-resistant. As a Japanese craft, it is registered as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.
